Southeast Asia Likely to Close Cybersecurity Deal with Russia
0 comments
Reuters recently revealed that it has seen a draft document which details a cybersecurity agreement between Russia and a number of ASEAN countries which is set to be issued at the meeting of global lawmakers that is currently taking place in Singapore.
It is said that the deal was prompted by the series of high profile hackings in the region, such as the attack on Singapore’s government health database and the foiled cyber attack on Malaysia’s central bank.
Russia, which has repeatedly been accused by the US of meddling with its elections, was not implicated in the recent cyber incidents by Singapore and Malaysia.
