Starlink Enters the PH

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) officially announced Starlink’s entry to the Philippines.


Starlink of Elon Musk’s SpaceX promises to provide download speeds of up to 200 Mbps, making the Philippines the first country in Southeast Asia to enjoy its services. With its Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, Starlink can target the unserved and underserved areas in the country to deliver high-speed connectivity. As of February 2023, the company has over 3,580 operational satellites, but it aims to have as many as 40,000 across the globe.
