Tim Berners-Lee, recognized as the inventor of the World Wide Web, recently made new comments on the dangers “big tech” pose to competition and society.

Berners-Lee said that the few dominant tech companies now effectively have control over which ideas and opinions are seen and shared, and these Silicon Valley companies are able to buy up talent and startups which may stifle innovation in the next 20 years.

He also said that he will be using his clout to push for regulation of these platform giants and added that social objectives should be factored in when creating a ruling framework.
