Trump Government Launches Probe Into China’s Intellectual Property Practices
Washington, USA – It was reported last Friday that the US will formally be investigating the alleged theft of US intellectual property by China.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said that the issues merited a thorough investigation. The theft is said to cost the US an estimated $600 million, but attempts to launch action against by previous administrations had been rebuffed.
Trump had spoken against China’s trade practices numerous times in the past, and the probe is the first significant step the administration is taking on the issue.
