Trump to Intervene in Huawei Exec Arrest

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his intentions this week to intervene in the case involving the  Justice Department Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou to help secure a trade deal with Beijing.

In a Reuters interview in the Oval Office, Trump said that he would certainly intervene if it will be for the good of national security and the largest trade deal ever made.

Trump is optimistic that a trade deal with China can be struck despite the struggle between the two countries to resolve a dispute that contributed to recent tumble in US stocks and raised questions about whether economic turmoil could beset the president in the new year.
