Twitter CEO Blasted for ‘Tone Deaf’ Myanmar Tweets

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was recently criticized for a series of tweets where he endorsed Myanmar as a tourist destination, despite the issue of human rights abuses in the country.

After visiting the northern part of the country for a retreat, Dorsey said that “The people are full of joy and the food is amazing,” and encouraged his 4 million followers to visit.

However, several users called Dorsey’s tweet a free tourism advert that was “tone deaf” and “extremely irresponsible”.
