Twitter Releases Latest Transparency Report

Twitter said in its latest Transparency Report that it receives around half a million spam reports per month, which was around 800 million at the start of the year.

The company attributed the drop to the effectiveness of its proprietary built technology used in proactively identifying problematic accounts before they can spam.

Twitter also said in the report that there had been a rise in government requests for user data, at approximately 80% more global legal demands, affecting more than twice as many accounts compared to the previous period.
