Research from big data app company Solix revealed that around two thirds of organizations in Europe are not yet ready for the “right to be forgotten” article in the GDPR.

With the looming deadline of less than 3 months, it is said that many are still confused on how to put the ‘right to be forgotten’ in practice, despite hefty fines of up to €20 million.

Solix also found that only 43% had a form of defined process for methodical deletion of records and confirmation checks, while as high as 82% don’t even know where their most sensitive personal data is stored. Only around 55% maintain audit trails for data consents, collections updates, and deletion.
