Google had reportedly dropped out of a potential $10 billion cloud computing contract with the U.S. Defense Department, saying that the project’s ethical principles does not align with the company’s.
Without elaborating, Google said that the JEDI deal would align with their AI Principles. In addition to this, the search firm said that there were portions of the contract that were out of scope with their current government certifications.
It is said that Google’s principles prohibit it from using AI in weapons and services that violate human rights and international surveillance norms.
