Singapore Creates Council to Assess Use of AI, Data
Singapore industry watchdog Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) said this week that the government will be forming an advisory council that will be responsible for assessing and making recommendations on the ethical and legal use of artificial intelligence.
The council, which will be led by former attorney-general V.K. Rajah and comprised of representatives from private organizations in the AI and big data industry, will be supported by a panel of technical and legal experts.
The IMDA also revealed that the council will be studying feedback from various stakeholders including consumers, ethics boards of private organisations, and the academia. It added that it will also establish a 5-year program that will focus on the governance of AI and data.
