India Excludes Huawei, ZTE from 5G Trials
0 comments
Chinese telecom giants Huawei and ZTE had reportedly been excluded from participating in 5G trials in India, following reports of the companies banning by the Australian government due to security concerns.
Telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan confirmed that Huawei had been excluded. The company, on the other hand, said that it has already contacted the government regarding its concerns.
However, Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco and Samsung had been invited by India’s Department of Telecommunications to work with the government in trialling the technology across the country.
Huawei previously criticized Australia’s decision in banning it, saying that the decision was brought by political instability rather than a transparent process.
