T-Mobile Data Brach Likely to Affect Millions

T-Mobile announced this week that had been hit by a data breach that may have compromised personal information including customer names, billing ZIP codes, phone numbers, email addresses, account numbers, and account types.
The provider said that it immediately shut down the attacker’s access last Monday. However, it was estimated that 3% of the company’s customer base had been impacted, which would be around 3.9 customers.
T-Mobile users have expressed their concerns that the breach can make it easier for the hackers to port (SIM swap) numbers, even if they were not able to steal any financial data or passwords.
