Trump Blames China for Hillary Email Hack
US president Donald Trump tweeted this week accusing Beijing of hacking into Hillary Clinton’s email and asked the FBI and the Department of Justice to look into the matter.
Denying the claims, China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said that the country is a staunch defender of cybersecurity that opposes and acts on any form of internet attacks and data theft. Hua added that China supports a joint response by the international community to cybersecurity threats through dialogue and cooperation, on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.
However, the Justice Department inspector general did not say in its June report that Clinton’s email had been hacked by Chinese agents.
