VP Pence Urges Google to Stop China Project

US vice president Mike Pence called on Google last Thursday to halt its rumored “Dragonfly” project that could be used for tracking user searches. He said that the app will only serve to strengthen the Communist Party’s censorship powers and risk the privacy of Chinese citizens.

Pence also warned businesses to think twice before working with the Chinese, especially if it means handing over intellectual property or abetting Beijing’s oppression.
