Third-Party Apps Not Accessed by Hackers, Facebook Says

Facebook’s VP of Product Management Guy Rosen said this week that they found no evidence that hackers had accessed any third-party apps.

Facebook previously said that the hackers had exploited a bug on the platform’s code to steal access tokens, which are digital keys that keep users logged in. However, the company had already reset the tokens, which means third-party apps using Facebook’s official SDK should now be secure.

Facebook also said that will be launching a tool to help developers manually identify users who may have been affected by the breach.
